We are ecstatic to share with you all that HAVEN and the Fallen Giants, our middle grade graphic novel, is available for preorder and will be out June 16th!

It will be out in paperback and hardcover. The paperback will have gold foil on the title and the hardcover will have a dust jacket! This is the first book in the duology, the next book will be coming out next year!

The idea for Haven was conceived 8 years ago, and many of you have been right here with us from the beginning of that journey. Those who have joined since may have seen glimpses in our patreon archives. Whether you are new or old, we are so stoked to share this story with you all.

Legend says that giants once roamed the skies. When one fell to Earth, a great city called Raqmu arose from its remains—great if you happen to live in the city, that is.

For Haven, an outcast living in the desert outside Raqmu, life is only about survival: sleeping in a shanty, scrounging for food, and fighting others for mere drops of water. However, she refuses to give in to hopelessness—Haven is a resourceful tinkerer who sneaks in and out of Raqmu to find spare parts for building gizmos that make life a little easier for herself and her guardian, Yassu.

One night, while scavenging the city's restricted junkyard, Haven uncovers a mysterious relic. Before she gets a chance to inspect it, the city's Guardians come after her! As Haven tears through the back alleys, she's helped along in her escape by Lan, a wealthy city girl who's seen how cruelly the Guardians treat Outsiders. Together, she and Haven form an unlikely bond—one that becomes dangerous when the Guardians track them down . . . and when Haven unwittingly awakens a sleeping giant with her stolen relic.

Preorders are so vital to a book’s health. This is because all preorders contribute to the first week of sales after the book is released. The more sales in the first week, the more likely the book can list (appearing on a bestsellers list) and the more bookstores will take note.

Haven is our first secondary world sci-fantasy, our first foray into traditional publishing and our first middle grade graphic novel. Our first time working with an agent, going on submission, and getting picked up by a big publisher.

While working on Haven I also had my first surgery, one where I ended up getting diagnosed with a super rare condition and shedding a tumor the size of a lime. (Oh, the fruit comparison. Don’t worry, I’m all good now, got a 5 inch scar for show and tell.) 

But this is all a story for another time…
